Questions

1.     What words or idea in the passage or sermon stuck out for you?  What grabbed your attention? 

2.     What parts of this passage were confusing? Are there other parts of the Bible, our tradition, or our theology that you find confusing?

3.     How does it make you feel when something confuses you? Do you have a positive or a negative reaction? Why do you think that is?

4.     Did Jesus resolve the disciples’ confusion? If so, how? Are there times in your life that you have had an experience with Jesus like this?

5.     Describe together what it means that someone is a “doer”. Describe together what it means that someone is a “listener”.

6.     Are you more of a “doer” or a “listener”? Why? Which type of person do you value more? Why?

7.     What are some ways that we can listen to God? What steps might we take to prioritize listening to God?

8.     How is God’s grace shaping how you see yourself and other people?
