After gathering, connecting, enjoying refreshments and checking-in or catching up, discuss the following questions.

Questions

1.           Are you familiar with the Veggie Tales or Sunday School version of this story? What lesson had you learned with this story before?

2.           Is the connection between the statue/image in chapter 2, the image here in chapter 3, and the creation of humans in God’s image clear to you? Can you put it into words?

3.           What do you feel when the lists of officials and of instruments is repeated?

4.           Is there a time when you are expected to worship at the sound of “all kinds of instruments” that is not about God?

5.           In what context might you be called to give a polite “no” to a call to allegiance?

6.           Can you give an example of national pride coming at the reckless cost of those who serve?

7.           Who would you say is the fourth figure in the furnace?

8.           What do you make of Nebuchadnezzar’s new plan?

9.           How does Jesus coming at Christmas connect with the hope given in Daniel 3?
