November 26th, 2023 - First Sunday of Advent - In Our Panic, God Shows Up

Scripture Passage:  Genesis 3:8-24

After gathering, connecting, enjoying refreshments and checking-in or catching up, discuss the following questions.

1.     By what title do you know the story in Genesis 3?  Is there a better title you can come up with?

2.     Share a time when you were caught doing something wrong.  What were the feelings?

3.     Is there an experience you are willing to share that left you feeling ashamed of yourself…not just guilty of doing wrong, but a sense of ongoing unworthiness?

4.     What do you think would have been the best response that Adam and Eve could have come up with to God’s questions?

5.     What is your take on how God showed up?  Is this a new perspective or a different angle for you?

6.     Have you ever been challenged and restored?  That is, have you ever experienced being caught ending up with a positive and healthy outcome.

7.     Had you ever noticed all the positive or hopeful parts of this story?

8.     What is your take-home from this passage/message/conversation?

9.     What is your hope in this season of Advent?
