MOUNTAINVIEW NEWS

Join us at 10 am Sunday morning via live-stream or in-person, or at any time throughout the week. Pastor Erick will present a a message entitled “Artemis and the Art of Love and Submission” based on the book of Ephesians chapter 5 verses 22-23

This is one of the few New Testament texts that is actually about marriage. Yet, it is seldom chosen as a wedding text. For that reason alone it is worth a closer look at what is taught in Ephesians 5.

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 4 is not that far away (sad, but true)!  We are hoping to "Celebrate the Garden" in that service and you are invited to bring any and all garden produce: flowers, honey, eggs, whatever you grow at home.  Bring it to the worship service on Labour Day weekend, to the front of the stage for display.  The hope and prayer is that we see a picture of how God blesses our work as we see the beautiful produce and fruits of our summer labour. It would be wonderful to share it all after the service too!  You take some of my kale, and I take some of your flowers!  Reciprocity and celebration of the goodness of God's earth.  Thanks for your participation, Ruth Ann

Gail Gorfe is joining us this Sunday to share an update on her summer in Canada with Zack and Zoya and some details about their plans going forward.

Join Tyler's Ministry Network - Tyler Couperus is looking for ministry partners both in prayer and finances as he prepares to leave our congregation and begin a missionary career with Global Aid Network in Langely BC. His new role as Disaster Relief Preparedness manager, will help him reveal hope and restore life in a world surrounded by humanitarian aid crises. He'd love to connect with you! You can reach him at tyler.couperus@globalaid.net or 289-455-0747

At World Renew Disaster Response Services, we are grateful to celebrate 50 years of DRS! Our work with churches and volunteers is how Christ’s hope and love is shared through disaster response, home repairs, and more. Join us on our anniversary tour in 2022 to reconnect, join in fellowship with a meal, and more on August 16th from 4-7PM open house style at Redeemer University.

Dear Friends at Mountainview: The last few years have been challenging for mission workers both at home and abroad. But thanks to faithful congregations like yours, Resonate has been able to continue making mission work a priority for the CRC. This work we do together unites us in our faith and commitment to the Great Commission. I encourage you to remember Isaiah’s words in chapter 55. “As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth... so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire...” (verses 10-11). The ministry leaders you sent depend on your support—thank you for making a difference. You are joining with them to work in God’s kingdom and lean on this promise for those that turn to him. May God bless all your work in his mission, both in your own community and alongside Resonate. In Christ, Kevin DeRaaf,  Acting Canada Director
