MOUNTAINVIEW NEWS

There is great and painful irony in the arguments around communion in the history of the church. We are meant to be one body participating in the one body of Christ. 1 Corinthians 12:12-27 calls us to spiritual unity, a equally shared belonging, and a recognized interdependence.

Join us at 10 am Sunday morning via live-stream or in-person, or at any time throughout the week. This week Pastor Erick continues our Lent series with a message entitled "One Body". He will be focusing on book of 1 Corinthians chapter 12 verses 12-27.

LET’S BUILD SOME COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS!

God’s Big Easter Story - Please join us Sunday April 2nd from 2-4 pm on ... A HOLY WEEK JOURNEY FOR FAMILIES. This interactive experience provides children with a simple, meaningful way to grow in faith as together you remember the events leading up to Jesus’ death and celebrate Jesus’ resurrection. Adults are also welcome!

Sign-up begins March 24th (Registration link will be active on our Events Page then). We estimate this activity/journey will take 45 minutes - 1 hour to travel through 8 stations. 40 ppl are being booked for each half hour (3 half hour time slots available). Groups of up to 12 people will attend stations at one time. We hope that the schedule and number of people will allow groups to flow smoothly with the station activities so that waiting is minimized. HOWEVER, please do expect some waiting to be part of this experience. We are learning as we go this year and we thank you for your patience.

Share Christ’s Hope with Syria/Türkiye Earthquake Survivors - On Monday, February 6, two major earthquakes rocked Syria and Türkiye killing at least 11,000 people and leaving thousands more injured. And as rescue workers search for survivors in the rubble of collapsed buildings, the death toll is expected to rise. In hard-hit northern Syria, a region heavily populated by refugee families who had already been struggling with food insecurity, an ongoing cholera outbreak, and the challenges of winter weather, there is an urgent need for humanitarian aid. Through World Renew, you can help provide emergency food and essentials and share Christ’s hope with the most vulnerable people impacted by this disaster. Please give generously worldrenew.ca/syria-earthquake or call 888-975-3769.

Dear Friends at Mountainview CRC,
Indwell is celebrating a milestone: 1,000 Indwell homes! Each of these homes is so much more than a roof over a person’s head. It is their home – the place where they can feel safe, a place from which they can begin or continue a journey of health, wellness and belonging. Through your gift, you are part of welcoming people into their new homes.
Key to tenants’ success are the daily health, social and daily living supports that Indwell provides. This increases the likelihood that Indwell tenants will maintain a stable home and move toward greater independence. You are a part of providing these supports through your donations to Indwell.
At the same time, we lament how many people are still desperate for an affordable supportive home. Indwell is responding, guided by a strategic plan with ambitious growth targets – in the number of new homes, in the care we provide for tenants, in how we support our staff, and in pushing for changes to systems that pass over too many people who are living in poverty. You are part of enabling this growth.
Thank you for being a part of our tenants’ community of care & support and your congregation's gift of $97.00.
Heartfelt thanks, Sonja and the Indwell team
