It might be helpful, though challenging, to read all of John 6. This passage is both clearly connecting Jesus to the spiritual feeding we all need and at the same time leaving us wondering. Understanding the bread of communion is simple, but not easy.
Join us at 10 am Sunday morning via live-stream or in-person, or at any time throughout the week. This week Pastor Erick continues our Lent series with a message entitled "The Mystery of the Bread of Life". He will be focusing on John 6: 43-59.
LET’S BUILD SOME COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS!
God’s Big Easter Story - Please join us Sunday April 2nd from 2-4 pm on ... A HOLY WEEK JOURNEY FOR FAMILIES. This interactive experience provides children with a simple, meaningful way to grow in faith as together you remember the events leading up to Jesus’ death and celebrate Jesus’ resurrection. Adults are also welcome!
Sign-up begins March 24th (Registration link will be active on our Events Page then). We estimate this activity/journey will take 45 minutes - 1 hour to travel through 8 stations. 40 ppl are being booked for each half hour (3 half hour time slots available). Groups of up to 12 people will attend stations at one time. We hope that the schedule and number of people will allow groups to flow smoothly with the station activities so that waiting is minimized. HOWEVER, please do expect some waiting to be part of this experience. We are learning as we go this year and we thank you for your patience.

Share Christ’s Hope with Syria/Türkiye Earthquake Survivors - On Monday, February 6, two major earthquakes rocked Syria and Türkiye killing at least 11,000 people and leaving thousands more injured. And as rescue workers search for survivors in the rubble of collapsed buildings, the death toll is expected to rise. In hard-hit northern Syria, a region heavily populated by refugee families who had already been struggling with food insecurity, an ongoing cholera outbreak, and the challenges of winter weather, there is an urgent need for humanitarian aid. Through World Renew, you can help provide emergency food and essentials and share Christ’s hope with the most vulnerable people impacted by this disaster. Please give generously worldrenew.ca/syria-earthquake or call 888-975-3769.
World Renew and Families Around the World Thank You - Last week, your church partnered with World Renew and Canadian Foodgrains Bank to provide emergency food to families in crisis around the world and to equip communities with the tools and training they need to journey to food security for the long haul. Thank you for sharing your gifts with our global neighbours. As we hear about the increasing challenges the most vulnerable families around the world face meeting their basic food needs, World Renew is grateful for the hope and strength your gift provides. Dear Friends of Mountainview CRC, Thank you for your continued investment in Redeemer. We are mindful of being the best possible stewards of this contribution to Christian education. We are extremely thankful for you and for God’s guidance in this new year. There are two developments I want to share (past and future), which may be of interest to you! On January 26, Dr. Daniel Lee Hill, Redeemer's 2022 Emerging Public Intellectual, officially received his award and spoke on the lessons and inspiration that can be found in the life of 19th-century Christian abolitionist William Still. It was an honour to have Dr. Hill on campus, and have his talk be part of this year’s “The World and Our Calling” lecture series.
In looking forward, on May 9-11, Redeemer is excited and privileged to be hosting the Kuyper Conference. Originally founded in 1998 at Princeton Theological Seminary, the Kuyper prize was established by Rimmer and Ruth de Vries and named after Dutch theologian Abraham Kuyper. This year the keynote speaker and 2023 prize winner is Makoto Fujimura who will offer a talk on the theme “Kuyper and Kintsugi: Public Theology for Repair, Reconciliation and Restoration”. Please note that there will be a public session (free of charge). More details can be found here.
Once again, thank you for the blessing of this gift. May God bless you.Heidi
