Offering Schedule for August 2018
OFFERING SCHEDULE FOR AUGUST 2018
August 5th A.M. – Synodical Administrative Services (Denominational Services) provides funds for synodical expenses and offices, the Board of Trustees, and general administration. It also serves the church by initiating, designing, organizing, and implementing various programs.
P.M. – Right to Life, St. Catharines: The St. Catharines Right to Life Association Inc. is a registered non-profit, non-political charitable organization that promotes respect for human life from conception to natural death through education. We provide information on pre-natal life, abortion, assisted suicide, euthanasia and related life issues. We support only peaceful means to uphold the right to life. Your support is greatly appreciated as together we help build a culture of life.
Guiding Principles:
• The right to life is the fundamental human right, and all other rights depend on it.
• All human beings share this right before and after birth.
• Society has a duty to protect this right.
• We deplore violent attacks on human life. We work through education, service and prayer.
August 12th A.M. – Redeemer University College is a Christian undergraduate university offering programs leading to Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Education degrees. From its Hamilton, Ontario campus, Redeemer has prepared graduating classes — the next generation of Christian leaders — for more than 30 years. Redeemer students are being shaped by the Reformed Christian commitment to see faith woven through all aspects of learning and life. Across the world, from the classroom to the convocation stage to careers and churches, our faculty, students and alumni are making an impact.
P.M. – Rose Cottage Visiting Volunteers: For the past 30+ yrs. Rose Cottage Visiting Volunteers has served the communities of Grimsby, Beamsville, Smithville and Vineland by providing support to families who are dealing with a life-limiting, progressive or palliative illness. The service is not age or disease specific, and there is no fee. They have various programs, including the visiting volunteers, who provide one on one support for clients and caregivers wherever and whenever it is needed. Other programs include: Bereavement, Ambassador, Legacy, Drop-In and Tele-Visits. Thank you for helping us to support families in our community.
August 19th A.M. – Upper Deck Ministries: The Upper Deck Youth Centre seeks to reach out to the youth of our community. The purpose of this centre is to provide a place where community young people can find practical life care and refuge and be introduced to relationships with Christian adults. Our hope is that through these friendships, some would desire a relationship with Jesus Christ and learn to walk with Him! Please give generously to this local cause.
P.M. - Shalom Manor & Gardens is a special Christian, non-profit long-term care home and retirement centre, serving seniors mostly of Dutch descent who belong to the community of Reformed faiths. Limited government funding does not allow the services our seniors require that meet our expectations and standards. Your gifts will enhance immediate resident care, programs, and debt load.
August 26th A.M. – CSM Faith Formation Ministries: As the Christian Reformed Church in North America, we are called to express the good news of God’s kingdom that transforms lives and communities. We seek to carry out this calling individually and as congregations. And we join with each other through regional assemblies (called classes) and denominational ministries, in the firm belief that together we can do more. Faith formation ministries encourages and equips local Christian Reformed ministry leaders in their calling to shape lifelong faith formation in their context so that all generations have an intentional and resilient faith.
P.M. – Niagara Association for Christian Education (NACE): We, as a community of supporters, invest our gifts of time, talent, and money to endow the next generation with a vital, Christ-centred education, shaping the lives of our youth to the glory of God and the building of His Kingdom. This collection helps our students and their families to reap the benefits of Christian Education.
