May 2nd, 2021
There’s a popular saying that suggests that there are only two certainties in life - death and taxes. But I'd like to suggest as we start a new month that there are far more things that we can be certain of… things a LOT more positive than death and taxes!
For instance, April showers are sure to bring May flowers. Those same flowers, wrapped into a bouquet and given to your mom on Mother’s Day are sure to bring a smile to her face. I’m also sure that the sun will continue to set and rise, we will turn our calendar page from April to May, and then May to June, and the seasons will continue to turn, displaying God’s amazing handiwork.
We read Colossians 3 this Sunday in our worship service, where we received more sureties; We are raised with Christ, when Christ appears, then we also will appear with Him in glory and we are God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved! May we clothe ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience this month as we remember these certainties.
Refugee Family
We continue to give thanks to God for His faithfulness in partnering Mountainview with the Tooe family. We pray for a smooth process as they wait for their arrival date, and as we prepare for their arrival.
As we have secured housing for the Tooe family, we are able to start collecting furniture and household item donations at this time. As soon as the stay at home order is lifted, we will be able to coordinate the delivery of these items to their home in Hamilton.
If you have any furniture and household items that can be donated, please set them aside and advise us by contacting deacons@mountainviewcrc.org, jendejonge@hotmail.com, or your neighbourhood deacon to make arrangements for these donations. Thank you in advance for your generosity!!
