2nd Sunday of Advent - Scripture Passage:  1 Samuel 16:1-13

Questions

1.      Share together as a group all the different things you know about David, or the stories you know of him.

2.      How many of those stories can you connect also with Jesus?

3.      Do you know other times when God picked someone who was least expected?

4.      Have you seen God work through unexpected people in your life?

5.      Can you think of ways we could be intentional about looking to the unexpected people?

6.      Have you ever been anointed?  Tell about that.

7.      Have you had the Holy Spirit come upon you?  Tell about that.

8.      The message in the sermon was that David was anointed and given the Spirit and so was Jesus and so are we.  Do you see yourself as an anointed one filled with the Spirit?

9.      How might this shape how you function at home, in the community, at work?

10.  Pray together about what God has shown you through this conversation.
