Scripture Passage:  Genesis 12:1-9

Questions

1.      What does Advent mean to you?  What do you do in Advent that is part of your preparation for Christmas?

2.      How do you respond to the idea that Advent is the preparation time for Christmas and that Christmas actually starts Christmas Eve and runs for 12 days into January?

3.      Can you summarize the message on Genesis 12?

4.       What stood out for you?  What was confusing? Are there things you wonder about or question?

5.      Who is your family?  Does your spiritual family overlap with your natural family?

6.      How has God moved you? Was it a move of heart, of place, of understanding?

7.      What is a holy place for you?  Where might you set up an altar to recognize that there you experienced God’s presence?

8.      When have you felt the blessing of God’s presence?

9.      When have you felt that you have blessed someone with the presence of God?  Does that question seem strange or does it stretch you?  What will you do with this?

10.  Spend time in prayer.
