November 5th, 2023 - PausE with the Persecuted

Scripture:  Romans 5:1-11   (Reflections on International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church)

After gathering, connecting, enjoying refreshments and checking-in or catching up, discuss the following questions.

1.     How much awareness or connection do you have in the area of persecution?

2.     Would you agree that we do not experience persecution here in Canada?

3.     How do you feel when you think about persecution of Christians in other countries?

4.     Have you ever experienced being mocked or looked down upon because of your faith?

5.     Can you connect with the words “rejoice in our sufferings”?

6.     Can you share how some experience of suffering produced perseverence, character then hope in you?

7.     How do you respond to the idea that the persecuted church wants us first to pray that they are faithful, along with praying for an end to persecution?

8.     How do you respond to the idea that the persecuted church prays for those of us who have freedom to worship?

9.     How do you think you would respond if you were in a circumstance of persecution?

10.                        Will this conversation alter the way you pray for Christians around the world?

Spend time as a group in prayer.  Do so in a way that works well for your group…and stretches you a little as well.
