After gathering, connecting, enjoying refreshments and checking-in or catching up, discuss the following questions.
Questions
1. What are your initial thoughts or feelings about “the armor of God”?
2. What do you make of the distinction between the armor from God and the armor that is God? Is it helpful?
3. Put in your own words what it means that we are not struggling against “flesh and blood”.
4. Have you seen an emphasis on spiritual battles done well and in a helpful way? Describe what that looked like.
5. What specifically would you say is our battle against today?
6. Pastor Erick made no connections between the actual belt or helmet etc and the thing it represented. Do you know good and helpful and memorable connections of why, for example, truth comes in the form of a belt?
7. What does it mean to you to “stand”? What is the passage asking of us with that command?
8. Is the Word of God or Sword of the Spirit a weapon for offence? How would you use it well and how does that use connect to the conversation about standing and praying?
9. What does it mean to pray in the spirit? Are there other kinds of prayers?
