January 14th, 2024 - Power Series #2: Weakness

Scripture Passage:  2 Corinthians 12:1-10

Opening

After gathering, connecting, enjoying refreshments and checking-in or catching up, discuss the following questions.

Questions

1.     When you hear a title like “the power of weakness”, what is your first reaction?

2.     What is a weakness of yours that you have little trouble sharing with others?

3.     What do you make of Paul’s boasting/not-boasting in 2 Corinthians 12?  Did he manage to not boast?

4.     Have you heard ideas about what the “thorn in the flesh” was?  What is your best answer?

5.     Paul asked 3 times for the thorn to be removed.  Is it okay to keep asking? How do we know when something is ours to live with and when it is something we should seek to have healed?

6.     Can you think of a time when should you NOT say to someone “my (God’s) grace is sufficient for you, my (His) power is made perfect in weakness.”?

7.     Is there anything in your life that you would share that you consider a thorn in your flesh?

8.     Have you experienced a time when being weak allowed Jesus to be strong?

9.     Are there areas where you need to embrace weakness so that Jesus can be your strength?

10.               Is there something you would say you need to die to, to let Christ live in you?

Closing

Spend time as a group in prayer.
