Questions

1.     What words or idea in the passage or sermon stuck out for you?  What grabbed your attention?

2.     “Love must be sincere” – are you willing to share a recent experience when you acted loving even though you did not feel it?

3.     How do you hate what is evil and cling to what is good? Do you have a practical example of trying to do that?

4.     What is your natural reaction to someone saying something mean or painful or challenging?

5.     What might help you move toward being able to bless them?

6.     Do you have a story of evil overcoming good?

7.     Was the teaching about “vengeance is mine” and the use of coals new to you?  What is your response to this interpretation?

8.     Can you envision a community of people “transformed by the love of Jesus”? What are some of the characteristics of such a community?

9.     What is a next step that you can take to be a person more transformed by the love of Jesus?
