 “PRAYER” – Cadet Sunday

MESSAGE NOTES

 “Hi God, It’s Me”

Jeremiah 29:12; Psalm 5:1-5 NIV

Why People Don’t Pray More:

1)    We never learned how to pray.

2)    We don’t really believe prayer works or prayer doesn’t seem to make any difference.

3)    We don’t pray because it’s easy to get bored and distracted.

4)    People don’t pray because we are “fixers” by nature.

5)    Our prayer life suffers because we read the bible in a one-sided way.

PRAYER IS CONVERSATION WITH GOD.

Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my sighing. Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you I pray. In the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation. Psalm 5:1-3

CONVERSATION WITH GOD

1)    We all connect with God in different ways.

2)    We need to learn to talk to God about everything that matters to us?

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Philippians 4:6

3)    When we talk to God we need to listen for His response.

“For your Father knows what you need before you ask him.” Matthew 6:8b
