MOUNTAINVIEW NEWS

This weekend Pastor Erick will present a message entitled “Dealing with Anger and Abuse”. He will be looking at the passage Matthew 5:21-26. We will look at three things that Jesus deals with in Matthew chapter 5 when he talks about fulfilling the law.  The first is the expansion of the command not to murder to include do not act out or speak out your anger.

2022 Church Directories are here! They will be out in the foyer for pick up at the service. Anyone is also welcome to come through the week to pick them up. (They will be delivered to anyone who gets weekly bulletins as well as to Evergreen, DeerPark and Shalom). As per usual, it is outdated as soon as it is in print 😊. Some of those edits will be shared in “Church Family”. Please know, the Bridge App is always the most up to date. You can even update your own information on the App as it changes (emails, phone numbers, addresses and photos too!).  Please do!

We are asking you to temporarily suspend your small group in order to participate in Challenging Conversations. Even though, due to the recent provincial Covid restrictions, the start date is yet to be determined, Registration for Challenging Conversations is open now.

JOYFUL GIVING

UPCOMING OFFERING: Jan. 30th A.M. – Cadets is a program for boys 9-14 years of age. The ministry of cadets is to teach the boys to learn more about God and respond to the world around them in a Christ-centered way. This is done through activities such as Bible study, badge work, crafts, games, campouts and league activities. Your donations help us to mentor and nurture boys in our church and surrounding community, in their walk with God.

Church Envelopes have been placed in your mail slots at church. In order to cut costs, I would appreciate it if you would let me know if you do not need them because your givings are with the Bridge App or using e-transfer. For those of you who are using the Bridge App "recurring Donations" or PAR, I have not issued the Blue budget envelopes. I have issued the white ones to most of you. The envelopes for 2023 need to be ordered by January or February so I would like to minimize the number that we order. If you have envelopes and won't be using them, please return them to me or leave in the office for me. (email:treasurer@mountainviewcrc.org). Thank you. Will Klein, Financial Administrator

Dear Deacons & Mountainview CRC family, Thank you for your ministry partnership. You have made such an impact in 2021 and help provide 671 Bibles where they were most needed! Your gifts provided Bibles to so many new believers to grow in their faith, and to help plant churches to share God’s Word globally with others. Please find attached our 2021 Annual Report with our Ministry Results. Romans 15:13, New International Version, says, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” God bless you in 2022 and take good care. Yours sincerely in Christ, Rev. Norm Cheng; Area Director, Southwestern Ontario

Happy new year from Reframe Ministries, formerly Back to God Ministries International. Thank you, congregation, for your faithful giving through ministry shares, and for your prayers in support of ReFrame Ministries. Like you, our ministries around the world find themselves in a protracted different space because of the pandemic. Adding to that is economic uncertainty in many nations and clampdowns by governments and religious groups of Christian gospel outreach. Now in 2022, we find ourselves in a position to share the Gospel around the world via technology when personal contact is still limited or forbidden. Thank you for your support through ministry shares and for your prayers, especially in this critical time. Our partners and believers from around the world greet you in the name of Jesus Christ. Visit https://reframeministries.org to see how your church is sharing the Gospel, discipling new believers and supporting local churches in many nations. Blessings in 2022! Paul Vandersteen, Church Relations

Please Pray - On Saturday, January 29, 2022, delegates, the Canada CRCNA staff, and Canada Corp members will gather online to converse together about how we can grow deeper into God’s mission in our Canadian context. The primary hope is that we might emerge from this Canadian Catalytic Conversation with some clarity on what structure might help CRCNA ministry in Canada flourish. In the readings and conversations, those gathered will hear about some of the related opportunities and challenges. Each Classis has been invited to designate 4 delegates to participate in this Canada-wide event. Please pray for our denominational staff, board members, organizing team, classes, and churches as together we seek God's guidance for the CRCNA within its Canadian context.
