MOUNTAINVIEW NEWS

Join us at 10 am Sunday morning via live-stream or in-person, or at any time throughout the week. Pastor Erick will present a a message entitled “Celebrating Life” looking at passages in Genesis 2: 4-17; and Revelation 22: 1-5.

The Bible story begins is a garden where humanity is planted to tend to what God waters. The story ends in a city with similar features of rivers and trees. There is something about all things living that helps us connect with God who gives and restores life.

COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS & OPPORTUNITIES…

Youth Justice Project – NewGround - “God creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join Him in the work He does, the good work He has gotten ready for us to do - work we had better be doing” (Eph. 2:7-10, MSG). For the past 30 years, the NewGround program of Diaconal Ministries Canada (formerly called Operation Manna) has helped over 100 churches in Canada love their community! We now have grants and support for teens and youth groups through our Youth Justice Project! They can receive up to $6000 for a project in their local community that addresses an injustice. Our aim is to empower the next generation of justice-seekers! Learn more about this program on our website: NewGround or email Karla, our NewGround Coordinator, at kwinham@crcna.org

Glocal Mission Podcast - How do we join God's mission locally and globally? That's what Resonate leaders Rich Braaksma and Nalini Suganandam aim to discover in this podcast, interviewing regional leaders and people doing awesome things (church planters, campus ministers, lay leaders, etc.) in a variety of contexts! Just five episodes in, this podcast in its infancy is already uncovering oodles of insight and inspiration. Plug in your earbuds and join us as we meet ministry leaders from around North America living out the gospel in their own contexts. Check it out at https://anchor.fm/glocalmission

Christian Sexuality Series: Parents, Grandparents, Uncles, Aunts & Friends; Smithville CRC will be starting a Sunday evening series, entitled: “Christian Sexuality”. This 12-part series will begin September 18th, at 7:30pm in our church. After this, the series will continue every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month. Our children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, live in a very secular culture where they are bombarded with messages about who they are (or may be) and who they can desire sexually. They are exposed to nonstop access to pornography and images that completely distort the biblical view of sexuality. So, what can we do about it? How can we walk alongside this generation and help them navigate through these times? This series explores a range of topics and will equip you to know how to speak the truth with grace to help the next generation make wise choices. This series also exposes the cultural lies and shows from God’s Word the biblical truth of human sexuality, and how to stand strong against this culture that says anything goes. Please join us. Together, we can make a difference.
