MOUNTAINVIEW NEWS

JJoin us Sunday morning at 10 am or any time throughout the week. Pastor Erick Schuringa will present a message entitled “Named is Enough”. The’ll be taking at look at the book of Exodus, chapter 3:1-14 and 4:1-17.

God calls us to action out of his compassion for people. He also is present and powerful and has a plan for us. Our focus on what we can or can't do misses the point. God's got this; whatever it is.

We will also have a Celebration of Graduates in this service, join us!

LET’S BUILD SOME COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS!

THANK YOU! to all of the volunteers who have participated for years in landscaping and grounds maintenance and to the new volunteers that have signed up. The need for help fluctuates greatly over the course of the season. So, if you are interested in helping on occasion, please let Paul Koornneef know.

We are looking for at least five volunteers to help with the gardens this Saturday, June 10th! Contact Paul Koornneef (text or call 905-645-4582) to let us know if you can help out for any length of time.

JOYFUL GIVING

**PLEASE NOTE THE EDIT BELOW TO THE MONTLY OFFERING SCHEDULE FOR JUNE 25th DUE TO THE NEW CHURCH YEAR END**

June 25th A.M. – MINISTRY PROMISE – BUDGET: "GRATITUDE” is a biblical virtue. God calls us to be thankful.  One of the ways that we can show our gratitude is by GIVING – whether that be volunteering one’s time, sharing one’s talents, monetary gifts, etc.  Mountainview CRC has a wonderful history of giving in so many ways to our church, to the community of Grimsby, and to other Christian organizations in the broader community.  Our annual budget -- the monetary gifts portion of the GIVING -- still has more be collected by June 30 in order to fulfill all of our ministry promises for this year.  Your financial support is crucial in helping Mountainview CRC continue to serve and thrive."

Sunday's offerings are for our Ministry Promise (a.k.a. Budget) AND for...

UPCOMING OFFERING: June 18th A.M. – Congregational Ministries (formerly CSM)As a denomination, we are committed to meeting the needs of people doing local ministry; listening better and hearing more from our churches; and following the leading of God in the work we do together. The congregational services ministries seek to partner with your church and help you partner with your community and other churches as you respond to God's call to go out and love. Each of our ministries addresses an important part of the ministry areas the CRC has identified as our collective calling: Faith Formation, Gospel Proclamation and Worship, Mercy and Justice, and Servant Leadership.

Indigenous Ministries of Canada: The Indigenous Ministry is made up of a national committee (Canadian Indigenous Ministry Committee), three Urban Indigenous Ministries, and a Justice and Reconciliation Mobilizer, each using their strengths to support healing and reconciliation between Indigenous peoples and non-Indigenous people in Canada. It is rooted in a recognition of our Creator’s love for all creation and in the understanding that we all have gifts to offer one another.

Dear Mountainview CRC, Thank you for giving the Word of God today! Thanks to you, 27 people will be receiving their very first Bible. These bibles are being placed into the hands of new believers around the world. Your generosity not only reaches thse people by placing Bibles, it also gives hope and reveals God’s truth in their lives through the Living Word of God! We continue to be so grateful for Canadian donor champions like the members of your congregation. Thank you so much! Blessings,

Hannah, Donor Relations Bible League of Canada

Bridge App Givings:  We are deeply grateful that many members are using The Bridge App to donate to our church’s budget and ministry causes.  Please be aware that there is a three percent fee for all donations given by credit card, while there is no fee if you give directly from your bank account.  If you haven’t already done so, you can add your bank account by clicking on ‘Give’ and then ‘Payment Methods,’ choose ‘Add Payment Method’ and then ‘Add a Bank Account’.  You will need to change the payment method on any existing recurring donations.  Together, we can save our church hundreds of dollars in fees, and direct those funds toward our budget and ministries. Thank you.

The Banner Needs You! - The Banner is the CRC’s award-winning monthly magazine. It is delivered free in print and online to every household in the CRC, and their annual donation appeal makes it possible. Please support this journalistic ministry and keep the community conversation going. You can give online now at: TheBanner.org/Give

Youth Justice Project - Diaconal Ministries Canada is helping teens make a difference in their communities! Through the Youth Justice Project, we encourage youth to identify an injustice in their community and share ways they hope to address it. Approved applicants receive up to $6000 in grants, one-on-one coaching, and support from NewGround staff. Find out more on our website: https://diaconalministries.com/newground/new-ground-youth-justice-project/

Extend Christ’s Love to Provide Justice for All - In many developing countries, education is not free and sometimes, parents cannot afford to send their children to school. Instead, children work to help support their families and, in some communities, girls are not allowed to attend school, simply because they are girls. World Renew provides communities with gender justice training to ensure that the rights of girls and women, and other vulnerable people are respected. Extend the love of Christ by joining us on Justice for All Sunday on June 25; learn more at worldrenew.ca/justiceforall
