MOUNTAINVIEW NEWS

Join us this Sunday morning at 10 am or any time throughout the week. Pastor Erick Schuringa will present a message entitled “As A Mother”. He will be looking at the book of Isaiah Chapter 66 verses 7-13.

Join us as we connect with Mother's Day by looking at Isaiah 66:13 where God is described "as a mother."  Some attention to the context will teach us even more about who God is.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the women in our lives who nurture and care for us!

LET’S BUILD SOME COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS!

JOYFUL GIVING

Sunday's offerings are for our Ministry Promise (a.k.a. Budget) AND for...

UPCOMING OFFERING: May 21st A.M. – Resonate Global Mission: Formerly Christian Reformed World Missions and Christian Reformed Home Missions, we came together in 2017 as Resonate to walk alongside Christian Reformed churches as they join God’s mission in their own neighborhoods and around the world.

We do this by planting churches and supporting ministry in North America as well as sending missionaries around the globe to share the good news. But sending people is only part of God’s plan for your congregation. Your church partners with Resonate as you join God’s mission in your own neighborhood and around the world. Resonate is here to walk alongside you in preparing missionaries and volunteers, calling and supporting church planters and campus ministers, connecting with ministries overseas, engaging church members and younger generations in mission work, and following the Spirit by discerning new ways to demonstrate and proclaim the gospel. Together, we help build God’s church.

Bridge App Givings:  We are deeply grateful that many members are using The Bridge App to donate to our church’s budget and ministry causes.  Please be aware that there is a three percent fee for all donations given by credit card, while there is no fee if you give directly from your bank account.  If you haven’t already done so, you can add your bank account by clicking on ‘Give’ and then ‘Payment Methods,’ choose ‘Add Payment Method’ and then ‘Add a Bank Account’.  You will need to change the payment method on any existing recurring donations.  Together, we can save our church hundreds of dollars in fees, and direct those funds toward our budget and ministries. Thank you.

Serve in Mississippi with World Renew - After the damage caused by tornadoes that stayed on the ground for approximately 100 miles across Mississippi, join World Renew this October for one week with your church to serve homeowners by repairing homes. Will you answer the call to rebuild hope in Rolling Fork, Mississippi? If interested, email cgibson@worldrenew.net to sign up or with questions.

Today we celebrate all the special women in our lives – the women who inspire and uplift us. Women who walk alongside their families and communities, encouraging and supporting them so that they can flourish are Women of Hope. Too many women are denied the opportunities they need to be healthy physically, emotionally, and spiritually – they are denied the chance to become Women of Hope. Through your gifts today you can help share Christ’s hope with vulnerable women in communities where World Renew works around the world. Your gift will help provide the training and tools they need to become strong and confident and better equipped to support their families and communities. For more information, go to: worldrenew.ca/womenofhope

We recently were able to host a volunteer appreciation to recognize the important role that volunteers contribute to Shalom daily.  Shalom volunteers play a vital role in helping with feeding at mealtimes, portering for church and other events, assisting with games, running the café and general store, seamstress work, music ministry, board members, one-on-one visits and so much more.  We celebrate and give thanks for our volunteers, not just once a year but every day for the joy and assistance they bring to Shalom.  Please join us in saying THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS!  If you would like to be a part of the Shalom community as a volunteer, please contact Brooke Roorda at volunteercoord@shalommanor.ca or at 905-945-9631, ext. 1115.

The Banner Needs You! - The Banner is the CRC’s award-winning monthly magazine. It is delivered free in print and online to every household in the CRC, and their annual donation appeal makes it possible.
