Offering Schedule for APRIL 2018
April 1st A.M. – Resonate Global Mission is continuing their partnership with churches in the United States and Canada to plant churches, do campus ministry, train and equip pastors, and develop future leaders. They will also continue to send missionaries overseas, proclaiming the Gospel, and forging lasting partnerships. In addition to this ongoing work, they are tackling new opportunities for ministry. Here in North America, we need experience in international ministry to help churches effectively reach across cultural barriers and forge partnerships within new communities of faith. In other nations, we need expertise in church planting and campus ministry to help people in every nation discover God’s plan for their church, community, and life. With your prayers and financial support, as a single agency we will be able to equip all our churches for ministry and join together with what God is already doing around the world.
P.M. – No Service – Easter WE
April 8th A.M. – World Renew – Kathleen Lauder: Kathleen Lauder has been serving as a World Renew Country Consultant in Cambodia, since 2013. She has more than 30 years of experience in international development. Kathleen is passionate about working with local partners and building their capacity to guide their own development process. Working together to promote community change in the areas of income generation, agriculture, health and sanitation, environment, peace-building and advocacy, and education. Cambodia: The people of Cambodia have been left with a daunting legacy. Under the Pol Pot regime one-third of its people died, followed by 15 years of civil war. Since 1993, the country has worked hard to rebuild and retrain communities and restore confidence and trust in leadership. World Renew is assisting in the development process, through training in governance, sustainable livelihood, food security, health and education. We support the local people to make their own decisions and take initiatives that are most important to them.
P.M. – Upper Deck Ministries - Stephanie Vanden Bogerd (DeVries) - The Upper Deck Youth Centre seeks to reach out to the youth of our community. The purpose of this centre is to provide a place where community young people can find practical life care and refuge and be introduced to relationships with Christian adults. Our hope is that through these friendships, some would desire a relationship with Jesus Christ and learn to walk with Him! Please give generously to this local cause.
April 15th A.M. – Niagara Association for Christian Education (NACE) - We, as a community of supporters, invest our gifts of time, talent, and money to endow the next generation with a vital, Christ-centred education, shaping the lives of our youth to the glory of God and the building of His Kingdom. This collection helps our students and their families to reap the benefits of Christian Education.
P.M. - Calvin College - is a liberal arts college in the Reformed tradition. Founded in 1876, Calvin College is one of the largest Christian colleges in North America with over 4,000 students and over 70 academic programs. Every dollar Calvin College receives from ministry shares is used to aid Canadian Christian Reformed students through denominational and exchange grants.
April 22nd A.M. – GEMS Girls Clubs - GEMS stands for Girls Everywhere Meeting the Saviour and is a relationship building club which was established more than 40 years ago. The ministry of GEMS continues with the purpose of bringing girls into a living relationship with the Lord. This is done through bible study, singing, crafts, games, and fun outings with dedicated counsellors and junior counsellors.
P.M. – Crossroads Prison Ministries catalyzes Christ-centered mentoring relationships between people in prison and volunteers from churches throughout the world. The unlikely relationships formed through studying the Bible together and exchanging letters transform both those inside and outside prison walls. For those who are locked up, experiencing the love of a mentor is metamorphic. The mentors’ encouraging and guiding words have a deep impact, providing a vivid picture of the unconditional love of Jesus. Volunteers who have been Christians for decades are transformed as well, discovering renewed purpose and excitement as they make an eternal difference in the life of someone previously thought to be discardable. Crossroads Prison Ministries embraces those behind bars as brothers and sisters in Christ. Through a relationship with Jesus Christ and the loving example of their mentors, Crossroads students can become agents of hope and change within correctional facilities. As they engage in Bible study with their mentors, leaders are identified and deployed. This causes cell blocks, day activity rooms and entire prison facilities to be transformed into healthy, vibrant communities of faith. As these same leaders are released back into their communities, they bring positive change and revival to the churches that receive them. While that is happening in the free world, those who will never be released are providing a foundation on which the church inside prison walls is built.
April 29th A.M. - Friendship Ministries (local): The Friendship Group consists of about 28 young people and adults from our church and surrounding community with developmental challenges. Special friends from our church meet with these young people and adults every Thursday night from September to May. We enjoy an evening filled with the good news of God’s love through Bible stories, singing, crafts, and special activities.
P.M. – Rose City Kidz - For 10 years Rose City Kids has been actively reaching children in Welland’s low income communities. Since then, Rose City Kids has been blessed with growth and success with over 500 children and 120 volunteers actively involved in our programs. Through our diverse programs, we see hope restored lives changed, relationships built, physical needs met, and overall we see the love of Jesus in action in our community.
