January 6th A.M. – CRCNA DENOMINATIONAL SERVICES is now SYNODICAL ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES: Synodical Administrative Services provides funds for synodical expenses and offices, the Board of Trustees, and general administration. It also serves the church by initiating, designing, organizing, and implementing various programs.
P.M. – Back to God Ministries International is the media ministry of the CRCNA. It proclaims the gospel of Jesus Christ through indigenous teams in people’s “heart languages” using the web, radio, television, phone, print, and other media. It opens doors for salvation and discipleship, broadcasting the gospel in otherwise closed regions. BTGMI aired its first radio program in 1939. Today, we are reaching people in almost 200 countries and 10 major languages: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish.
January 13th A.M. – Benevolence: Your contribution to Mountainview’s Benevolence fund provides assistance for the needs of our church family and the local community. These include basic needs such as food, clothing, housing and schooling. A church and community of our size has many varied needs within it. Please continue to support our ministry of benevolence.
P.M. – Calvin Theological Seminary provides theological training for ordained and un-ordained ministry positions for Christian Reformed Churches in North America as well as leaders for Christ’s church around the world. They also evaluate candidates for ministry, offer continuing education for pastors, and seminars for office bearers. Calvin Theological Seminary advises synod and is a theological resource for all denominational agencies and churches.
January 20th A.M. – World Renew – Kathleen Lauder: Kathleen Lauder has been serving as a World Renew Country Consultant in Cambodia, since 2013. She has more than 30 years of experience in international development. Kathleen is passionate about working with local partners and building their capacity to guide their own development process. Working together to promote community change in the areas of income generation, agriculture, health and sanitation, environment, peace-building and advocacy, and education.
Cambodia: The people of Cambodia have been left with a daunting legacy. Under the Pol Pot regime one-third of its people died, followed by 15 years of civil war. Since 1993, the country has worked hard to rebuild and retrain communities, and restore confidence and trust in leadership. World Renew is assisting in the development process, through training in governance, sustainable livelihood, food security, health and education. We support the local people to make their own decisions and take initiatives that are most important to them.
P.M. – Christian Horizons is a trans-denominational, evangelical ministry that provides support to individuals who have developmental disabilities. With over 157 residences, respite care homes and retreat facilities, they are Ontario’s largest provider of opportunities that create a fulfilling and purposeful place in society for exceptional people.
January 27th A.M. – Cadets is a program for boys 9-14 years of age. The ministry of cadets is to teach the boys to learn more about God and respond to the world around them in a Christ-centered way. This is done through activities such as Bible study, badge work, crafts, games, campouts and league activities.
P.M. – Shalom Manor & Gardens is a special Christian, non-profit long-term care home and retirement centre, serving seniors mostly of Dutch descent who belong to the community of Reformed faiths. Limited government funding does not allow the services our seniors require that meet our expectations and standards. Your gifts will enhance immediate resident care, programs, and debt load.
