Offering Schedule for September 2021
Sept. 5th A.M. – Niagara Christian Gleaners is an organization in Smithville that seeks to visibly demonstrate God’s love and grace by working with volunteers to collect, process, and make available surplus agricultural produce; sharing our abundance with those around the world who are in need. Gleaning is a biblical concept in which God instructed farmers to leave a portion of their crops for the poor to gather. Your donations help us to engage locally to impact globally in our ministry of mercy.
Sept. 12th A.M. – Benevolence: Your contribution to Mountainview’s Benevolent Fund provides assistance for those in need in our church family and in our local community. These include basic needs such as food, clothing, housing and schooling. A church and community of our size has many varied needs within it. Please continue to support our ministry of Benevolence.
Sept. 19th A.M. – Resonate Global Mission is continuing their partnership with churches in Canada and the US to plant churches, do campus ministry, train and equip pastors, and develop future leaders. They continue to send missionaries overseas, proclaiming the Gospel, and forging lasting partnerships. In addition to this ongoing work, they are tackling new opportunities for ministry in North America. With your prayers and financial support, we will be able to equip all our churches for ministry and join together with what God is already doing around the world.
Today’s offering is for Resonate Missionaries Gail & Yonas Gorfe in Ethiopia Gail works as the Projects Manager at Bingham Academy in the capital city of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. This mission school allows the children of missionary families to have a solid education, allowing them to return to the academic flow of education in their home country. Without the school, missionary families would not be able to commit to their mission calling – whether it be medical care, programs for street children and orphans, church planting and leadership, seminary education or local community development. As Projects Manager, Gail develops school policies and procedures, handbooks and manuals. She also handles all the advance paperwork and preparation for work permits and residence permits for all foreign staff.
Sept. 26th A.M. – Congregational Services As a denomination, we are committed to meeting the needs of people doing local ministry; listening better and hearing more from our churches; and following the leading of God in the work we do together. The congregational services ministries seek to partner with your church and help you partner with your community and other churches as you respond to God's call to go out and love. Each of our ministries addresses an important part of the ministry areas the CRC has identified as our collective calling: Faith Formation, Gospel Proclamation and Worship, Mercy and Justice, and Servant Leadership.
This week’s focus is Safe Church Ministry: Safe Church Ministry equips congregations in abuse awareness, prevention, and response. We help build communities where the value of each person is honored; where people are free to worship and grow free from abuse; and where abuse has occurred, the response is compassion and justice that fosters healing.
