Worship Notes - April 21, 2021

Hello Mountainview!  Here’s a few brief worship thoughts for this week, from me to you.

It’s VOLUNTEER Week, and I want to thank all the many, many volunteers who make worship possible each week.   Tech team, worship team musicians, those who provide art, those who read, those who say YES when I ask for some help with another idea.   YOU ROCK!!!   I could never plan and execute worship services alone.  Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

Secondly, Calling All Kids at Mountainview! I would love to see some more of your artwork in the next month. At some point, in May or June, we will spend some time in worship celebrating God’s good, good CREATION. Could you draw or colour or paint pictures of things that God has made in his world? Then ask your mom or dad to take a photo of it and send it to me. We love to see your creativity, and worship God through your art. Just look outside at the amazing spring that is springing all around us and be inspired. This song based on Psalm 150 might also inspire you: "Let ALL creation praise the Lord!"

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Thirdly, Calling on everyone here! Pentecost Sunday, May 23rd – the colours of the fire of the Holy Spirit are red, yellow, and orange. Could you dress in some clothes of these colours and send in a very brief video of Pentecost greetings to your family of God at Mountainview. You could say “Happy Pentecost, Mountainview” or “May the Spirit of God be with you” or “May God’s spirit guide you today and every day” or “Let’s celebrate this day when the Holy Spirit came on the church” or something else you might come up with. Remember to keep it short! And hold your phone in landscape (not portrait). And maybe if we are able to be in-person in worship, let’s bring the colour into the worship space too, by wearing something red or yellow or orange. Send it to me via text, messenger, or email. There will be a deadline TBD.

Mid-Week Worship – this morning I led a short time of worship from my home using FaceBook Live. I was so encouraged at the numbers and at your response. Thank you! It was good to be together virtually, even while we remain in our homes. We shared prayers, songs, and scripture. I will continue these worship times for the next four Wednesdays @ 10 AM. Join me if you can.
