What’s Going On? Season of Transition

As we move through April into May and June, we are in a season of transition.  We will be celebrating a number of our ministries as part of our worship time on Sundays as their season comes to a close.  Thank you to the many leaders who have helped make Cadets, GEMS, Coffee Break, Friendship, and Youth happen on a weekly basis.  And thanks to those who are being groomed for the next season of ministry.

This is also the time of year when we search out and select new office-bearers. We have a good slate of office-bearers from whom some will be selected.  This is a great blessing to celebrate – that people are willing to “let their name stand”, as we say, for council roles.  Thankful for those who have served, we anticipate the new faces, characters, and gifts that will be around those tables moving forward.

A third thing that happens at this time of year is staff evaluations.  This year we are going to do something called a 360.  The reference is to the 360 degrees of a full circle.  We plan to have evaluation from the full circle of people connected to each staff member.  That includes supervisors who oversee them, colleagues and partners they work with, as well as people who are under their leadership.  Many of you will be invited into this process because you are involved in the ministry of this church.  Please help us out with prompt and sincere answers as you are given that opportunity.

Finally, as regular ministry season things wind down, it is time to anticipate and gear up for our summer season.  This means KidsCamp, which is presently hiring staff.  This year it also means our Food Program.  We hope to take part in bringing bagged meals to St Catharines on Tuesday evenings.  There are other groups doing other days of the week, so this is where we can help out.

At present, I have gathered a lead team to manage shopping, meal prep, and delivery.  As a team, we will organize others who have already or will yet volunteer to join in.  There are a number of questions to be answered yet, but we hope to be ready to go for Tuesday April 23.

Your continued prayers for Mountainview ministries are always appreciated.
