Questions
1. How engaged or aware have you been about Indigenous Ministries in our denomination?
2. Have you personally had any relationship with indigenous people here in Canada?
3. Do you self-identify as a Gentile? Does it make sense to you that this is the group you belong to (unless you are Jewish, of course)?
4. Does it make a difference to you to identify as those brought in or welcomed in or grafted in? Think of a time when you were a foreign guest somewhere? What helped? What was hard?
5. Have you ever heard it said “they would be better off if they had their own church”? What do you think of this statement?
6. How do you explain all the different groups in the church of today when it started out as Jewish believers working to welcome Gentile believers?
7. How do you deal with other “brands” of Christians?
8. How do you apply the unity conversation to indigenous believers? What do you see as the challenges? What should be our goal?
9. Are there other things from this passage or message that struck you and that you would like to discuss as a group?
