Message: “Hospitality”
Scripture Passage: Genesis 18:1-15; Hebrews 13:1-3
Opening
Check in and catch up on how God has been guiding you in the last week.
Share a time when you had to host a big event, whether a large number or an important topic or both.
Discussion:
The word for hospitality in Hebrews 13 means "love for strangers". What does it take to love a stranger?
2. Have you ever entertained an angel or the Lord? (Matthew 25:34-36 might help here)
3. Have you ever run out of food or drink or anything else while hosting? How did that go?
4. Do you enjoy hospitality? What parts is easiest for you? Hardest?
5. How do you handle awkward moments in a conversation?
6. Is there a time in your experience about which it is good to know that an awkward moment does not disqualify you from love and grace?
Closing
Is there some opportunity that you (personally or as a group) can show hospitality to strangers?
Spend time praying with and for each other.
