MOUNTAINVIEW NEWS

Join us Sunday morning at 10 am or anytime throughout the week. Pastor Erick Schuringa will present the 7th message in the “Just Love” fall series, entitled “Stay On Side”. He will be looking at 1 Corinthians 13 verse 6.

This week we look at what seems like an obvious statement: "do not delight in evil, but rejoice in the truth." However, in practice this may be harder than we think. Evil can be slippery and we need to know the truth on which we will focus. We will start in 1 Corinthians 13 and then travel through a variety of biblical texts on this subject.

LET’S BUILD SOME COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS!

JOYFUL GIVING

Sunday's offerings are for our Ministry Promise (a.k.a. Budget) AND for...

UPCOMING OFFERING: World Renew – World Hunger Sunday: Sharing Christ’s Hope Through the Gift of Knowledge - Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu’s oft quoted, "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach him how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime," explains one crucial way World Renew shares Christ's hope with communities in food crisis. World Renew works to provide communities with the training and tools needed to help them sustainably produce enough food, so no one goes hungry. Next week is World Hunger Sunday and through our gifts we can help World Renew provide communities with the knowledge they need to become food secure. To learn more, go to: www.worldrenew.ca/worldhunger

Thank you so much for your support through regular offerings to the Bridge Church. This gift is a welcome help. By God’s grace, we serve 50 – 70 warm, nutritious breakfasts 7 days a week, in partnership with the great staff and a host of volunteers at Third Space Cafe. Our daily numbers are growing. It’s not the ministry anyone imagined in 2014 when we started, but it’s the ministry God has given us. We look forward to sharing more news about the Food Recovery Program that we are involved in. Please visit us at the www.thebridgenf.ca. Thanks again and we pray that you are all well. Lots of lovefrom the Bridge Church Family

Thrive Faith Formation Tip - Today is Reformation Sunday, when churches in a variety of Reformed denominations celebrate the work of Martin Luther and others who influenced generations of Reformed churches like those in the CRCNA. The “five solas” provide a helpful summary of Reformed faith teaching: solo Christus (Christ alone), sola gratia (grace alone), sola fide (faith alone), sola scriptura (Scripture alone), and soli deo gloria (glory to God alone). Spend time reflecting on these solas this week, thinking individually or discussing as a family how important these are in your relationship with Christ.  Brought by Thrive: crcna.org/Thrive
