This week in our "When God Shows Up" Advent series we jump to the New Testament where Peter, James, and John see Jesus' Transfiguration. It is a powerful and overwhelming experience, but what does it all mean?

UPCOMING OFFERING: December 17th A.M. – The Bridge (Niagara Falls) – Pastor Steve DeBoer: An inner-city mission in a neglected area of Niagara Falls, the Bridge exists for the "placeless" of the city - the invisible, unseen ones of our society. In partnership with Third Space Cafe, The Bridge serves a nutritious breakfast every day to 50 - 75 people living on the streets, in tents, abandoned buildings, and under-serviced motels. More than a breakfast-service provider, The Bridge seeks to be a community of support and connection, working collaboratively with the City, Region, faith communities, businesses, not-for-profits, and people of peace who have a heart for homelessness, and compassion for the issues connected to it. NEW AGAIN SECOND USE STORE in Beamsville is looking for new volunteers. Help support Cairn Christian School by volunteering for an hour or 3 hours, daily weekly or monthly. We are looking for help with customer service, sorting donations, cleaning and organizing and also cashiers. This is a great way for students to get their volunteer hours and also for you as parents and grandparents to give back to your community and schools. Questions? Mountainview Mountainview church is seeking to fill the part-time position of Assistant Custodian. At Mountainview our Custodians play a very important role in helping make to our members and guests feel welcome, and comfortable. Our Custodians are responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and orderliness of our church facilities.
The successful applicant will assist the Custodian in providing custodial services for Mountainview Church. The applicant will be responsible for every other weekend (1-2 hours on Sunday morning) and vacation relief for Custodian’s holidays. On-Duty weekends, may also involve hours for opening, closing, setting up, and some cleaning of the church, for rentals and events. This position includes hours during the day and evening. We offer competitive wages.
This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. Prior caretaking experience is an asset. Cairn Christian School (Stoney Creek campus) has two openings for paraeducator support from Jan - June 2024. One opening is for a PSW/EA to work with a JK student who is on the spectrum. This position is for four days a week (Mon., Wed., Thurs., Fri.) for 4hrs/day (9am-1pm). The other opening is for a full-time EA to provide support in our Grade 5 classroom.
