Offering Schedule for December 2022
December 4th A.M. – Benevolence: Your contribution to Mountainview’s Benevolent Fund provides assistance for those in need in our church family and in our local community. These include basic needs such as food, clothing, housing and schooling. A church and community of our size has many varied needs within it. Please continue to support our ministry of Benevolence.
December 11th A.M. – Shalom Manor & Gardens is a special Christian, non-profit long-term care home and retirement centre, serving seniors mostly of Dutch descent who belong to the community of Reformed faiths. Limited government funding does not allow the services our seniors require that meet our expectations and standards. Your gifts will enhance immediate resident care, programs, and debt load.
December 18th A.M. – Resonate Global Mission is continuing their partnership with churches in Canada and the US to plant churches, do campus ministry, train and equip pastors, and develop future leaders. They continue to send missionaries overseas, proclaiming the Gospel, and forging lasting partnerships. In addition to this ongoing work, they are tackling new opportunities for ministry. Here in North America, we need experience in international ministry to help churches effectively reach across cultural barriers and forge partnerships within new communities of faith. In other nations, we need expertise in church planting and campus ministry to help people in every nation discover God’s plan for their church, community, and life. With your prayers and financial support, we will be able to equip all our churches for ministry and join together with what God is already doing around the world.
Gail Gorfe works as the Projects Manager at Bingham Academy in the capital city of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. This mission school allows the children of missionary families to have a solid education, allowing them to return to the academic flow of education in their home country. Without the school, missionary families would not be able to commit to their mission calling – whether it be medical care, programs for street children and orphans, church planting and leadership, seminary education or local community development. As Projects Manager, Gail develops school policies and procedures, handbooks and manuals. She also handles all the advance paperwork and preparation for work permits and residence permits for all foreign staff.
December 24th P.M. – Candlelight Service - Grimsby Life Centre is a ministry that is committed to providing help for the physical, social, and mental well-being of those in crisis. This loving care is demonstrated through on-going counseling, support and care. All services are free and confidential, and we depend solely on donations from individuals, churches, businesses, and fund-raising events. Thank-you for your support and prayers.
December 25th A.M. – Christmas Day – World Renew Through the World Renew Gift Catalogue, your Christmas gift supports local churches and Christian partners worldwide in reaching out to vulnerable neighbours in their community. Your gifts for World Renew at Christmas help the world’s needy families with more food, better health, enough income, peace and justice, and recovery from disaster. The goat or rooster, kitchen garden kit, handwashing station, or bicycle that you add to your Christmas list this year for someone you may never know, may be just what they need. Because God knows them and will provide what they need to take the next step into the wholeness and wellbeing that God intends for them, for his glory. Thanks be to God for this indescribable gift.
