Lenten Guided Prayer

Since 2017 Mountainview has offered a Week of Guided Prayer. A retreat in the middle of our busy lives. Last year we switched it up a bit and offered both a weekly and a monthly Guided Prayer Retreat. The interest was so great, we had to close registration early. To accommodate the growing number of people interested we have decide to offer a Lenten Guided Prayer through the six weeks of Lent where people can participate in a small group.

What is it?
Opening oneself to God through praying scriptures and sharing that experience with those in your small group each week throughout Lent.

Commitment
The Lenten Guided Prayer involves:

Spending time at home praying scripture and then meeting with your small group to share your prayer experience. You will be provided with each weekly handout as well as some information on how to pray scripture and how to journal your experiences.

When
The Lenten Guided Prayer will take place through the six weeks of Lent 2025. (March 5th to April 20th)

Starting Sunday March 9, 2025, Pastor Erick will introduce Lectio Divinia (praying scripture) during his message.

Each week you will have a time of personal prayer, and a time of sharing your prayer experience with your small group. Pastor Erick will close out the week with a message based on the Bible verses you have been praying.

On Easter Sunday April 20, 2025, we will hear a message recapping the themes of the previous six weeks.
