Babies-Walkers & Little Lambs Volunteers:
this includes Team Leaders Adult and Youth Caregivers; (Rooms 10-11-12)
Whenever you hear the fire alarm sound you MUST exit the building. To do so efficiently and as organized as possible we ask that you follow the following procedure.
- When the alarm goes off the Adult Caregiver MUST gain control of all present in the room. They should wait for the Ushers to come to the room to help in evacuating the children. Each child may need to be taken by the hand or carried out so that they do not run away or stop out of fear) and follow the direction on the maps on your classroom door/wall, to the closest exit.
- Take the Attendance/Check-In sheet with you when you exit the building.
- Be sure to leave any bags, car seats, toys and other items behind, unless an infant is already strapped into the seat.
- The Youth Caregiver should lead the children. The Adult Caregiver should be the last person out of the room. When you exit, close the door and windows behind you. - Once your group is outside, Children’s Ministries meet on the Back/Upper parking lot or and take attendance again. Keep the children in a close circle and comfort them.
- No child should leave your group until the ALL CLEAR if given and their parents are there to pick them up. Check them off on the attendance sheet as they are picked up. Be sure to confirm that each child goes with their parent or person who has the matching card. Grandparents, siblings or others MAY NOT come to get them.
Classes JK to Grade 4:

- At every class the teacher should take attendance. The attendance sheet will be taken with you when you exit the building.
- When the alarm goes off the teacher MUST gain control of all present in the room and instruct the children to walk out of the building in single file (younger children may need to be taken by the hand so that they do not run away or stop out of fear) and follow the direction on the maps on your classroom door/wall, to the closest exit.
- The classroom helper should lead the children. The teacher should be the last person out of the room. When you exit, close the door behind you. - Before the teacher leaves the classroom, make sure the windows are closed.
- The Ushers will be doing a walk-through to help as needed.
- Once your group is outside, Children’s Ministries meet on the Back/Upper parking lot or on the and take attendance again. Keep the children in a close circle and comfort them.

NOTE: Parents will do anything to keep their children safe, including taking over, but they need to know that you are in control, so be confident!
